AIUB Law Faculty Organises Court Visit to Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Munshiganj

The Department of Law, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), organised a court visit to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Munshiganj, on 24 September 2026 for students of the 6th semester. The visit was designed to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of the judicial system and to complement their classroom-based legal education with firsthand experience of court proceedings and administration.

The program began with a morning briefing, followed by courtroom observation and observation of ongoing court proceedings. The students also visited the Nezarat Section, where they learned about the maintenance, management and provision of judicial documents and gained an understanding of the administrative processes that support the functioning of the court. A question-and-answer session provided an opportunity for students to discuss their observations, clarify their understanding of courtroom practice and relate their academic knowledge to the practical application of law. The visit concluded with a closing session and memento handover.

The court visit contributed to experiential legal education and reflected AIUB’s commitment to quality education by providing students with learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Through direct exposure to judicial proceedings and court administration, students developed a practical understanding of judicial processes, courtroom practice, professional responsibilities and the institutional functioning of the justice system. The experience also encouraged students to connect legal principles studied in the classroom with their practical application, supporting the development of well-rounded legal professionals.

The organisers expressed their sincere appreciation to the Chief Judicial Magistrate and the judicial officers of Munshiganj for their warm hospitality, cooperation and valuable support in facilitating the court visit and providing the students with a meaningful learning experience.
